Horse Insurance – Equine Liability

Individual Horse Owner Liability

This policy protects the individual horse owner who does not derive income or is not commercially involved in the horse industry. It provides coverage for the horse owner’s legal liability for both bodily injury and property damage to others resulting from the ownership of the horse.

Commercial Equine Liability

This policy provides coverage for commercial equestrian activities- boarding, training, breeding, instruction, etc. Coverage is provided in the event you are sued by a third party who is injured or whose property is damaged. This policy covers your defense and pays claims for which you are legally liable up to the policy limit.

Care, Custody and Control

This policy provides coverage for a non-owned horse that is injured or dies while in your care. This policy provides for your defense, and if you are proven negligent in a court of law, the policy will provide coverage for the horse’s medical care or replacement cost up to the policy limit.

Riding Club and Association

This is a yearly policy that provides coverage for seven event days with additional days available. This coverage provides the club or associations with coverage if they are faced with a lawsuit by a third party. Defense fees as well as claims for property damage and bodily injuries are covered. Medical payments for club members are excluded. Event dates must always be reported to the insurance company prior to the date of event. There is no liability for non-equine events that occur at the horse show.
